A Life Within (Nora Keshk, Visionaries)

A Life Within

You're not 2 years old yet, brushing your teeth, standing on your stool by the bathroom sink, when suddenly it dawns on you: that foam-flecked face beaming back from the mirror is you. You. Yourself. Your very own self.
The real you is the person you are when nobody is watching, but when other people enter the picture, things can change. You can change. We're all fighting this battle: kids, teenagers, adults, and even the elderly; we're all struggling to be ourselves. Some people stand up for themselves, while others follow. Few show their true personalities, while others hide behind a mask. The ones hiding behind a mask are scared of what people will think of their genuine character; they're scared to be judged, but they want to be accepted.
To be true to yourself means is to act in accordance with who you are and what you believe. Be who you are! Have the courage to accept yourself as you really are, not as someone else thinks you should be. Don't take action or pretend to be someone else for the sake of gaining acceptance.
You are a distinctive and individual demonstration of a Creative Force. You aren't a blueprint or a carbon copy of anyone past, present, or future. You are you and there is no one else quite like you in the world. You don't look exactly like anyone; you don't live exactly like anyone. There are things you can do better than anyone else can do, and there are qualities that no one else can possess in exactly the same way that you do. These reflect a world and life within.
Talk about how to be a success! A successful person is simply the one who does his/her best with the things he/she can do better than anyone else. Talk about living well! Who lives better than the ones who are true to their own inner light? Talk about being interesting! What is more interesting than the person who is being him/herself? Talk about how to be happy! The happy people are those who have found that the secret of really getting the most out of life is to make the most of the qualities that are innately their own.
Be true to the very best that is in you and live your life consistent with your highest values and aspirations. Those who are most successful in life have dared to creatively express themselves and in turn, broaden the experiences and perspectives of everyone else. There will never be anyone else like you in the future of the universe, and there has never been anyone exactly like you since human life began.
